We at Merry Meeting Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited (MMBTU)
believe in the conservation, protection, and restoration of Maine's trout and
salmon fisheries and their watersheds. MMBTU accomplishes this two ways. First,
through its ten monthly meetings and second, through its youth program.
We're talking fun here! Meetings, banquets, chapter sponsored
trips, and our Casting to the Future program which introduces kids and others
to the great sport of fly fishing. MMBTU believes that fun is what it's all about.
We've figured out how to have a good time while advancing the cause of cold water
fisheries in Maine. Whether you're currently a Trout Unlimited member or not,
come join us for our regular meetings anytime. You'll find talk about fishing,
fly fishing and the challenge of keeping Maine a place where there are many great
fishing opportunities. You're likely to be invited to join an expedition. Maybe
to the pond next door, or maybe to a river several hours away. You're welcome
to participate in any way at any level you find most comfortable. |

May 15th
Spring Fishing Trip
The plan is to meet at Wiley Pond in Boothbay
at 9 AM Saturday May 15.
If you have a canoe or kayak that would
be the best way to fish Wiley Pond. No motors including electric.
The Pond is well stocked in the fall with brookies and no ice fishing
is allowed, so the fishing might be good.
Directions
to Wiley Pond Boothbay
From Bath follow
Route One to Wiscasset (approx. 10 miles), and cross Wiscasset
Bridge to Rte. 27, approx 1 mile north of bridge. Turn right onto
Rte. 27 and proceed about 9 miles. On the left you will see the
Boothbay Railway Museum. Take the next right onto Adams Pond Road.
Go 200 yards and turn right on Dover Road. The entrance to the
Boothbay Region Fish & Game Association and
Wiley Pond is about ¼ mile on your left.
For the complete meeting schedule, see the Event
Calendar. |
