MMBTU is especially proud of the Casting to the Future youth program, where responsible
fly fishing practices are taught. Topics include:
- Habitat and Species Education
- Resource Conservation and Protection
- Catch and Release Practices
- Knot and Fly Tying
- Wading Safety
Some students go on a chapter trip to one of Maine's premier fisheries,
Grand
Lake Stream, where their new skills are applied to catch the big one.

Program Brochure
WHO:
CTTF is open to boys and girls ages 11-17. No experience is
necessary. Everybody learns to catch and release trout safely.
WHEN and WHERE:
There are two mornings of indoor instruction at the Bath
YMCA:
Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4, 9AM-12 Noon.
There's an excellent chance you'll
catch a fish the following weekend - May 17, Saturday Morning, 9-12 at the
Durham Rod & Gun Club.
The program culminates with an optional Columbus Day weekend
trip to Canalside
Cabins at Grand Lake Stream to fish for beautiful land
locked salmon.
COST:
$25. All gear is provided by MMBTU. Transportation for the
Grand Lake Stream trip is provided by the Bath YMCA and lodging is provided
by MMBTU and Canalside Cabins.
